Recognised as a leading contractor in Libyan exhibitions, International exhibition freight forwarder Show Carriage Limited is delighted to have been appointed to provide logistical support for both events to be held at the Tripoli International Fairground.

The exhibitions will provide the international export community with access to Libya’s priority market sectors:

• Infrastructure Libya 2009 – the International Exhibition for Libya’s Infrastructure and Economic Development incorporating - Building and Construction/Transport and Communication/Water and Environment and Power and Electricity

TRANSPORT WAREHOUSE SUPERVISER

A person to take responsibility within the office to work hand in hand with the Operations Manager to assist in UK collections and deliveries, printing of labels for freight, customs clearance procedures utilising our in-house freight computer package to generate notes, invoices etc...  Other duties will also involve full responsibility for the efficient running of the warehouse, checking in, packing, labelling and despatching freight.  Using the fork lift and driving the company van.  Some experience in the transport logistics arena is a must.  Future on-going training in all aspects of exhibition freight forwarding will be given.

A stray dog was centre of attention at the recent opening ceremony of the AAPG 2007 International Conference and Exhibition held at the Megaron Athens, 18-21 November.   Show Carriage was the appointed freight forwarder but had not included services for “dog removal” in the tariff.

Located directly adjacent to the U.S. Embassy – security was very tight – but not tight enough to stop our four legged visitor boldly walk where no man would dare tread.  Without as much as a visitors pass the animal parked itself in the middle of the registration area and settled down for a “cat nap”. No amount of Greek salami nor allure of security guard’s trousers could shift the animal.

Eventually the interloper decided that the Oil and Gas sector was not for him and without even as much as a woof or a wave of the paw took himself back out the way he had come in.  He was last seen disappearing into the Greek sunset with other things on his mind… leaving the bemused conference organisers and delegates alike with an interesting story to tell….

Show Carriage co-ordinated a challenging and spectacular assignment recently for Libya’s leading aerospace event - LAVEX 2007.  Working in co-operation with our Moscow based service partner, Show Carriage’s team unloaded two fully freighted  IL76 aircraft  within a timescale of 2 hours at Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport.  The airfield has rarely seen such large aircraft utilising the airstrip, and as a result Show Carriage staff had to hire a special nose loader and two twelve tonne forklift trucks to discharge the cargo successfully.

Included in the shipment was a 12m long container within the belly of the aircraft, plus spare parts for a MIG 29 fighter aircraft that performed daily aerial displays during the exhibition.

At the close of the exhibition services were performed in reverse order with the IL76’s being reloaded within 24 hours from the official teardown of the exhibition, ready to allow both aircraft to be on their way to the next destination - The Dubai Air Show.
