INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION LOGISTICS PROVIDER HOSTS SOLENT SAILING DAY.

Warm sun, blue sky, calm sea and a gentle wind all contributed to the enjoyment of Show Carriage’s hospitality day on the Solent aboard Thames Sailing Barge ‘Kitty’.

On Tuesday 31 July, the Show Carriage team played host to 40 exhibition industry professionals – clients, organisers and contractors – to celebrate the company’s tenth anniversary of operation as a leading exhibition logistics company.

The occasion gave guests a unique opportunity to meet and network in a blissfully informal atmosphere. They were drawn from major exhibition  industry names including Montgomery Exhibitions, Allworld Exhibitions, Messe Munich and Imdex Asia; as well as UK trade bodies including the British Naval Equipment Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders, and the Engineering Industries Association.

 ‘Kitty’ slipped her Southampton moorings and set sail for Cowes giving guests the opportunity to go ashore and absorb the preparations for Cowes Week. Then under full sail ‘Kitty’ got under way for the return voyage to Southampton only to receive a ‘fanfare’ of sirens from the QE2 which was setting sail for the Mediterranean on one of her final voyages ahead of her retirement in Dubai as a floating hotel.
